Services
GP appointments.
Routine and urgent care for adults and children. We prioritise sick children and adults with acute illness for same-day care.
How to book
Online is quickest.
- Patient Portal — book selected appointments instantly, 24 hours a day, without waiting on the phone. Open the Patient Portal.
- By phone — reception answers (046) 902 1369 Monday to Friday, 9:00–12:00 and 2:00–5:00. Lines are busiest first thing in the morning.
- Same-day care — if you or your child are acutely unwell, tell reception when you call so we can prioritise you.
Types of appointment
Choose the one that fits.
- Standard GP consultation — up to 15 minutes, for one main problem. If you have several issues, please book a longer or second appointment.
- Review consultation — a follow-up within two weeks for the same issue.
- Telephone consultation — suitable for results, straightforward queries and some follow-ups. The GP will ask you to come in if you need to be examined.
- Consultation with bloods — a GP visit with blood tests taken on the same day.
- Nurse appointments — bloods, dressings, injections, ECGs, blood-pressure monitoring, smears and travel vaccinations.
- House calls — for patients who are housebound or too unwell to attend. Please request as early in the day as possible.
Current fees are on our Fees page. Medical card and GP visit card holders are not charged for GP or nurse consultations.
Before you come in
A few things that help.
- Bring a list of your current medications, or the boxes, if you are new to us or have been in hospital.
- Arrive a few minutes early; if you are running late, ring ahead — we may need to reschedule.
- If you cannot attend, let us know as early as you can so the slot can go to someone else.
- You are welcome to bring a family member or friend, and you may ask for a chaperone for any examination.
