How will it work?
We do apologise for the difficulties you have had in reaching us by phone recently. The phone had always been the usual way of contacting the surgery. Despite a full staff complement, the volume and complexity of calls just seems to have grown since the Pandemic and we cannot keep up!
However, we are pleased to be able to announce that we shall be adding a comprehensive Patient Portal from the end of March that will allow patients to view appointment options and book these from their PC or smartphone. This service will be available equitably to all patient categories and we shall retain our telephone option and emergency phone lines for shoulder hours and lunchtime emergences. It will still be possible to book by phone if you need to.
So, while you can still call us for an appointment and should do so for urgent matters or same-day availability, it will be easier for everyone if most appointments can be made on-line. Our staff will be able to assist patients who are unable to use the on-line system but you will appreciate that they will request others to use the portal.
This system will display in one place he range of consulting options that we offer, whether with the health care assistants (2), nurses(4), the advanced nurse practitioners (3) or the GPs (11)at the practice. We hope this will make contacting us, especially for appointments, a lot easier.
In time, we would hope that this portal will allow you to securely view communications from our clinicians for such things as laboratory results and to send us secure messages instead of using our current email addresses.
Please watch the website for our new Patient Portal very soon.
Thank you for your patience.
